This page provides information on module course registration for Level 1000 Mathematics modules Courses in the Bachelor of Engineering undergraduate common core curriculum. Each BEng programme includes a combination of modules courses of particular relevance selected from the following:

  • MA1505 Mathematics I (4 MCs) *Offered in Semester 1 only
  • MA1508E Linear Algebra for Engineering (4 MCs) *Offered in Semester 2 only
  • MA1511 Engineering Calculus (2 MCs)
  • MA1512 Differential Equations for Engineering (2 MCs)
  • MA1513 Linear Algebra with Differential Equations (2 MCs)

The MA15xx modules Courses have "passed A-level H2 Mathematics (or equivalent)" as a pre-requisite. 

Students who do not meet the following criteria will need to read the Mathematics bridging module course MA1301, before you can start reading the required Mathematics modulesCourses

LECTURE will be pre-allocated to you, based on your recommended schedule and student grouping.

TUTORIAL in your scheduled semester

LECTURE will be open for selection in CourseReg Select Courses. Please register for it in CourseReg Select Courses (from Round 1 onwards).

TUTORIALS will be open for balloting selection in ModRegCourseReg. You will need to select and rank your timeslots in Select Tutorials/Labs, and it will be allocated to you based on the priority scoringscore. 

Reading it out of sync with your recommended scheduleafter your scheduled semester

LECTURE will be open for selection in ModReg Select Modules Round 0 (subject to available quota).TUTORIAL CourseReg Select Courses, to the following groups:

  • Round 2: Year 4 students and E-Scholars
  • Round 3: Students in BEng programmes (Cohort 2019/20 - 2023/24)

Reading it before your scheduled semester

Please submit an appeal in CourseReg (Appeal Type: "Unable to Secure Course") after Round 3 ends, and we will consider your request subject to available quota
