  1. Your Turnitin account is separate from your NUS account.
  2. Resetting your Turnitin password does not affect your NUS password.
  3. DO NOT reuse your NUS password for your Turnitin account.
Reset your Turnitin password
  • Go to the Turnitin login page.
  • Click the Forgot your password link. (See note below regarding last name.)
  • If the email and password match the details that Turnitin has on record, you will be sent an email with further instructions on resetting your password.
  • If you get the wrong last name, refer to the note below.

You need to provide your NUS email address and your last name.

  • The NUS Turnitin Administrator does not know nor has access to individual account information in Turnitin.

As your last name is system-assigned, your actual last name likely does not tally with the last name in your Turnitin account.

Try the following as your last name, in this order:

  1. Your NUS-ID e.g. citabc or e0123456
  2. Your NUS email address
  3. Your friendly-mail alias
  4. Everything after the first word in your name as in your staff or matriculation card. Example:
    1. IVLE/LumiNUS/Canvas Display Name: Tan Ah Kow
    2. First name in Turnitin is: Tan
    3. Last name in Turnitin is: Ah Kow

You may have to try several variations to retrieve your Turnitin password

If you have tried all possible variations of your name and you have a friendly-mail email, try the friendly-mail instead.

Once you have reset your password, login at turnitin.com.
