What is auto-populated by CDMS before CourseReg?

From AY2026/27 Semester 1, all Canvas courses will be automatically published one day before CourseReg (e.g., 19 July 2026), with institution-level visibility by default.

CDMS will automatically fill in the “static course details” in your Canvas Syllabus page one day before CourseReg date - but only if no one has already updated that information manually.

The static course details are synced from CMS. The info includes:

  • Course Description

  • Units #

  • Grading property

  • Pre-requisites / Co-requisites / Preclusions

  • Workload hours

  • Cross-listed course labels (if any)

  • Timetable / Exam Info (as an external link)

The remaining sections will still require manual filling and populating. These “non-static” course info are not part of the auto-populated mechanism.
