[GEN2062Y] Community Activities for Seniors with SG Cares
IMPORTANT
Course duration. This is a year-long service-learning course offered in both Semesters 1 and 2 of the Academic Year. GEN2062Y is offered in Semester 2 of the Academic Year; it runs till the end of Semester 1 of the following Academic Year, when grades are awarded. GEN2062X is offered in Semester 1 of the Academic Year; it runs till the end of Semester 2 of that Academic Year, when grades are awarded.
Service work period. Over the course of a year, you will be journeying with your assigned seniors, through weekly activity sessions. The service work period for GEN2062Y is from Semester 2 of the Academic Year to the end of Semester 1 of the following Academic Year; for GEN2062X, from Semester 1 of the Academic Year to the end of Semester 2 of that Academic Year; for GEN2062Y.
Service work commitment. The service work period is year-long, during both the regular semesters. This is because of the commitment you will make to the seniors to journey with them during this one year. Thus, you can still enrol in this course if you have other commitments during the summer vacation period.
However, if you think you may likely be away during the regular semesters due to Student Exchange Programme (SEP), overseas internship, Leave of Absence (LoA), etc, you SHOULD NOT enrol in this course. Students on local internships and short exchanges are not affected.
Note to graduating students. If you intend to graduate at the end of AY2024/25 and wish to read GEN2062, the latest you can enrol is Semester 1 of that Academic Year, in GEN2062X. Grades are awarded at the end of Semester 2, which means your degree will be conferred in end-June, and you will join the Commencement ceremony in the same year.
