IgniteAI Search
IgniteAI Search is semantic search in courses i.e. it will search the course for adjacent terms and related concepts. The search will retrieve results from published content in Assignments, Announcements, Discussions and Pages of the course you are searching in. Teachers can disable this by hiding it from the course navigation sidebar.
User Roles
New course user roles have been implemented. The roles were based on feedback, introducing oft-requested read manager roles.
For Students
Customisable Dashboard
Students can now customise their Dashboard. The default view is task-focused, highlighting completed, due and late assignments in a student’s Courses. Other widgets can be chosen and re-arranged according to each student’s preferences.
For now, this feature is only available to students who do not possess any teaching role in Courses.
Notebook
Students can highlight and capture notes based on content in Canvas Pages using the new Notebook feature.
For Staff
Course Accessibility Checker
The Course Accessibility Checker detects common accessibility issues in courses. It surfaces issues such as missing image alt tags and low text contrast for instructors to take action. Acting on the accessibility feedback will make courses friendly for screen reading software and usable for a wider range of students.
Differentiation Tags
Differentiation tags are an organisational feature to arrange students. Teachers can use differentiation tags to assign Assignments, Discussions, Quizzes and Pages. The tags are not visible to students.
