Create and grade video submission assignment using Videos/Panopto
Panopto allows you to receive video submissions from students. Follow these instructions to set up video submission assignments using Videos/Panopto in Canvas.
1. Create an Assignment Folder in Videos/Panopto
In your course, click Videos/Panopto on the left-hand course navigation.
Don't see Videos/Panopto?
By default, Videos/Panopto will be at a lower position on your course navigation. You can arrange the order of the course navigation in your Course > Settings > Navigation tab.Videos/Panopto does not load?
Please enable third-party cookies in your web browser.
Click the cog icon on the top right.
Click Create Assignment Folder.
You will see a new sub-folder. This is the assignment folder. Now, continue following the instructions below to create the assignment in Canvas.

2. Create an assignment for video submission in Canvas
In your course, (1) click Assignments on the left-hand course navigation, then (2) click + Assignments.
Follow the steps for creating an online assignment.
In the assignment details text box, add:
details about the assignment,
the name of the assignment folder in Panopto and
For the submission type, choose:
Online from the drop-down list, then
check Text Entry*.
Once you have completed setting up the assignment, you can click Save or Save & Publish (if the assignment is ready to be published).
*Text Entry submission type is so that students can embed the video in the text field.
3. Grade video submissions using SpeedGrader
Students' uploaded videos can be viewed/marked using SpeedGrader. Alternatively, you can also view the videos in the assignment folder in Panopto.
