Show/hide totals and grade distribution graphs (and measures of central tendency) in Grades

Defaults:

  • Totals in student grades summary are hidden from students.

  • Grade distribution graphs are shown to students.

In Grades, you can choose to show or hide:

  1. Totals i.e. overall score for the course, and

  2. Grade distribution graphs (which includes mean, high, low, median, upper quartile, and lower quartile scores as well as a box and whisker plot).

To show or hide totals and grade distributions in students' grade summaries, follow the steps below:

  1. Go to Settings from your Course Navigation

  2. On the Course details tab, scroll to the end of the page, below the Description text field.

  3. If you want to show the totals to students in Grades, uncheck Hide totals in student grades summary.
    If you use weighted assignment groups, then the assignment group totals are also hidden from students when you select this option.

  4. If you want to hide grade distribution from students in Grades, check Hide grade distribution graphs from students .

  5. Click Update course details to save the settings.
