Receive notifications for Announcements and Inbox messages I create

In your Account > Notifications:

At the Account level, set:

• Announcements created by you to one of the notification options other than notifications off.

• Conversations created by me to one of the notification options other than notifications off.

You may want to check the announcement notifications for individual courses as well.
