Students cannot access an Assignment, Quiz, Page (or other tools) despite the tool being published
This article is applicable in the following situations:
Your students attempt to access an assignment or quiz through Assignments or Quizzes and receive the following error message:
This assignment/quiz is part of an unpublished module and is not available yet, orYour students report encountering an error message on the course home page that states:
This page is part of an unpublished module <module name> and hasn't been unlocked yet.
In cases where the assignment, quiz, page, or other tool has already been published but is part of a Module (referring to Canvas's Modules feature, not the Course), please ensure that you publish the respective Module.
To publish the Module, click the crossed-out icon. Once published, it will display a green checkmark.
Additionally, please verify the Available from date (via the three dots > Assign To), if applicable.
Other possible causes include:
The student attempting to access the content may have a Guest Student role, which restricts access to graded assignments and quizzes.
The course may not have reached its open date or could be past its end date.
