Import course template from Commons
We have created course templates with starter content which you can import to your course and modify.
This guide covers importing the 13-week template for the regular undergraduate semester. There are other templates for mini-semester/special term, short courses or topic-based courses.
Click Commons on the left-hand Global Navigation Sidebar.
The first time you access Commons, you will be asked to authorise Commons access to your Canvas account. Please Authorise as requested.
Click the respective NUS 13-week template. [Sem 1] for semester starting in August. [Sem 2] for semester starting in January. Here we are using the [Sem 1] template.
You will see a preview of the template. This template has Modules, Pages and a Discussion. Click Import/Download on the right-hand menu.
On the right-hand sidebar, you will see a list of your courses. Check the course(s) that you want to import the template to. Then click Import into course.
The template appends to your course. It does not overwrite existing course content.
Give some time for the import to run. Check your course later to see the template imported into your Course. You can edit/delete the template’s content.
