Microsoft Education in Canvas

Microsoft Education takes over the functions of the Microsoft Teams classes and Microsoft Teams meetings integrations. Microsoft Education features tighter integration with Canvas.

Existing Microsoft Teams classes

Class Teams provisioned via Canvas, that were set up in your Course > Settings > Integrations tab > Microsoft Sync, will be accessible via Microsoft Education. These Teams can also be accessed directly in Microsoft Teams.

Existing Microsoft Teams meetings

Meetings that were set up in Microsoft Teams meetings are not ported over to Microsoft Education. These can still be accessed and managed directly in Microsoft Teams.

If you want to manage your course’s Teams Meetings in Canvas, you may choose to delete existing course Teams Meetings in Teams Calendar and reschedule them using Microsoft Education instead.

Existing Teams from NUS provisioning

Class Teams provisioned by NUS are not affected by the Microsoft Education integration. These are still accessed directly via Microsoft Teams.

Collaborations

Microsoft Office Collaborations are not affected by the Microsoft Education integration.
