Do a peer review assignment
You may be asked to review a fellow students' submission.
Peer review required?
If your assignment requires you to perform a peer review, you will see this listed under the respective Assignment.
Click the required peer review.
You may need to review more than one submission.
Perform the peer review
On the right-hand sidebar of the assignment, you will see your submission as well as the assigned peer reviews. Click the name of the person whose assignment you need to review.
1. The person(s) you are assigned to review may be listed as anonymous. This is a setting decided by the instructor.
2. The exclamation mark icon indicates a review that is not yet complete.
Depending on the instructions given to you for the peer review assignment, you should provide review using the tool(s) specified by your instructor.
This indicates whose assignment you are reviewing and the date and time the submission was made.
You will see This peer review is not finished yet if you have not added at least one comment.
This is the file title. You can click it to download the file for viewing.
Clicking View Feedback will allow you to view the document directly in Canvas. It opens up the DocViewer, which includes annotation tools.
These are the DocViewer annotation tools. If required, annotate the submission.
You need to enter after each annotation to save it.If required, make an overall comment on the assignment in the comment text box.
If required, click Attach file to attach a file. You may also be required to do a media comment, which you can record directly in your web browser.
For any comment, media comment or file attachment, once done, click Save.
You will see your comment/media comment/file attachment in the area above the comment text box
If you refresh the page, (2) will indicate: You have finished the required steps for this peer review.
