Type B: Active Learning Rooms
These rooms are designed to promote flexible break-out group discussion. From a lecture-mode style of teaching, the room can be transformed for students to form project groups for topic discussion. They can also support multiple modes of teaching.
Students sit in mobile and flexible chairs which is designed for quick and easy transition from one teaching mode to the next. Whiteboards along the walls facilitate brainstorming among the students. The lecturer has an unobstructed view of the whole class.
Ample whiteboard, flexible furniture and ample power point allows students to be groups in a variety of configurations. Feedback monitor, dual projectors, writing tablet, visualizer are controlled through a user friendly touch screen interface. The teaching console support both Windows and Macintosh based notebooks and come with USB connectors.
The general ambience of the room is further enhanced by suitable energy saving cool lights with simplified controls and rechargeable, portable hands-free microphones.
