This page provides information on module registration for Level 1000 Mathematics modules in the Bachelor of Engineering common core curriculum. Each BEng programme includes a combination of modules of particular relevance selected from the following:
- MA1505 Mathematics I (4 MCs)
- MA1508E Linear Algebra for Engineering (4 MCs)
- MA1511 Engineering Calculus (2 MCs)
- MA1512 Differential Equations for Engineering (2 MCs)
- MA1513 Linear Algebra with Differential Equations (2 MCs)
Pre-requisites & Preclusions
The MA15xx modules have "passed A-level H2 Mathematics (or equivalent)" as a pre-requisite.
Students who do not meet the following criteria will need to read the Mathematics bridging module MA1301, before you can start reading the required Mathematics modules.
- Passed A-level H2 Mathematics or IB HL Mathematics or NUSHS Major in Mathematics
- Sat for and passed the MA1301 Proficiency Test
- Polytechnic diploma holders with recognised Diploma+ certificates in Mathematics
How to register for the modules
Reading it in your scheduled semester
LECTURE will be pre-allocated to you. If you are scheduled to read it but have not been pre-allocated, please register for it in ModReg Select Modules (from Round 0 onwards for current students and from Round 1 onwards for newly admitted students).
TUTORIALS will be open for balloting in ModReg. You will need to select and rank your timeslots in Select Tutorials/Labs, and it will be allocated to you based on the priority scoring.
Reading it after your scheduled semester
LECTURE will be open for selection in ModReg Select Modules, to the following groups:
- Round 2: Year 4 students and E-Scholars
- Round 3: Students in BEng programmes (Cohort 2019/20 - 2020/21)
TUTORIALS will be open for balloting in ModReg. You will need to select and rank your timeslots in Select Tutorials/Labs, and it will be allocated to you based on the priority scoring.
Reading it before your scheduled semester
Please submit an appeal in ModReg (Appeal Type: "Unable to Secure Module") after Round 3 ends, and we will consider your request subject to available quota.
