This wiki has been updated for the ModReg Round 0 exercise. Please check back for details on ModReg Rounds 1-3, which will be updated in due course.

This page provides information on module registration for Level 1000 Mathematics modules in the Engineering undergraduate curriculum. Each BEng programme includes a combination of modules of particular relevance selected from the following:

  • MA1505 Mathematics I (4 MCs)
  • MA1508E Linear Algebra for Engineering (4 MCs)
  • MA1511 Engineering Calculus (2 MCs)
  • MA1512 Differential Equations for Engineering (2 MCs)
  • MA1513 Linear Algebra with Differential Equations (2 MCs)

Pre-requisites & Preclusions

The MA15xx modules have "passed A-level H2 Mathematics (or equivalent)" as a pre-requisite.

Students who do not meet the following criteria will need to read the Mathematics bridging module MA1301, before you can start reading the required Mathematics modules.

How to register for the modules

Reading it in your scheduled semester

LECTURE will be pre-allocated to you. If you are scheduled to read it but have not been pre-allocated, please register for it in ModReg Select Modules (from Round 1 onwards).

TUTORIALS will be pre-allocated to you. We encourage you to stick to your recommended timetable as much as possible. However, in the event that you have valid reasons to change to another slot, please drop your tutorial in ModReg and ballot for your preferred slot during the Select Tutorials/Labs rounds.

Reading it after your scheduled semester

LECTURE will be open for selection in ModReg Select Modules (from Round 3 onwards).

TUTORIALS will be open for balloting in ModReg. You will need to select and rank your timeslots in Select Tutorials/Labs, and it will be allocated to you based on the priority scoring.

Reading it before your scheduled semester

Please submit an appeal in ModReg (Appeal Type: "Unable to Secure Module") after Round 3 ends, and we will consider your request subject to available quota.

ModReg Round 0 Advisory

For Select Tutorials/Labs Round 0, only a selected set of tutorial groups is open for current undergraduates, as the remaining tutorial groups are reserved for incoming students. All tutorial groups will be made available from Select Tutorials/Labs Round 1 onwards.
