Please follow all these steps to determine the reason that you cannot see the course on your Dashboard and the respective reason/resolution.

DO NOT JUMP to the step that you believe is the issue.

Check your All courses list

Go to your All courses list (Courses > All courses).

Check whether the course is listed and is published.

Course is listed and not published

If the course is listed but not published, please wait for the instructor to publish the course. (This is not controlled centrally.)

Course is listed and published

If the course is listed and published, but not appearing on your Dashboard, please star the course.

If you find it under Future Enrolments, the course has not reached the open date and/or not been published by the instructor yet.

Course is not listed

If the course does not appear on the all Courses list (Courses > All courses):

  1. Please note that the course does not appear immediately after you see it in CourseReg.

  2. Enrolled courses from CourseReg will only be uploaded to EduRec at the end of each CourseReg round during the course allocation process.

  3. Check whether the course appears in EduRec (not CourseReg). Navigation: myEduRec > Academics > Academic Records.

  4. Once the course appear in EduRec Academic Records, it will be synced to Canvas the next morning.

    1. If the course does not appear in Canvas the next morning, please go through steps 1 to 3. If the course appears in EduRec Academic Records, it will be synced to Canvas the next morning.

    2. If the course does not appear in Canvas for more than two days after appearing in EduRec Academic Records, please take a screenshot of the EduRec Academic Records (do not crop) and  send a help request. If you have already sent a help request, please update the ticket with the screenshot.

 Reference: Newly enrolled students in CourseReg are not synced to Canvas

Newly enrolled students are not synced to Canvas until after the student enrolments are officially released to EduRec from CourseReg. 

After every round of CourseReg exercise, the officially released student enrolments are uploaded to EduRec. Only these officially released enrolments will be synced to Canvas during the daily sync. Please note that students cannot be added to Canvas until after the CourseReg exercise is complete, and the Edurec Sync from CourseReg happens.

For students enrolling to courses via the course appeals process also works in a similar manner, and student enrolment information is only synced after the appeal process is completed, and the data is available on EduRec, before Canvas can sync the data from EduRec. Although, the appeals are approved by the departments, and the CourseReg system states that students have been enrolled, Edurec will still not show that the students have been enrolled (or dropped) until after the EduRec Sync period as stipulated by the Registrar's office. 

You may refer to the Course Registration Schedule & Timeline as updated by the Registrar's office or contact the Registrar's office for details.

Dropped course still appearing in Canvas?

Note that the opposite holds based on the reasons above. If a course is dropped from EduRec Academic Records, it will only be reflected in Canvas the next day. You can unstar the course so that it does not appear on the Dashboard.

For past courses

Past courses may not appear to you on your All courses list (Courses > All courses), as the visibility of the courses are determined by the teaching staff of each course.
