To make your Canvas syllabus visible to non-enrolled students before the term starts to support students during the MODREG exercise, the following settings will need to be configured.

  1. Go to Course > Settings
  2. Set Visibility to “Course
  3. Check the Customise checkbox and set “Syllabus” to “Institution”.
  4. Leave the Files to "Course" (as you do not want un-enrolled students to be viewing your files
  5. Select “Include this course in the public course index”.
  6. Publish the course.

Non-enrolled students will only be able to the module’s syllabus information page. Regardless of whether the term date is set in the future or has already passed, the Syllabus information will still be visible to non-enrolled students.

Important note:
The course would need to be published before it is visible to non-enrolled students.
