Find The Cheese
Basic Task
Using ultrasonic sensors, make your robopet traverse the maze and find the cheese.
- If the mBot goes off course or gets stuck, you can do manual adjustments, but each adjustment comes with a penalty!
Challenge for Extra Points
- Make the mBot stop at the black line/strip.
- Detect the colour of the board placed above the black strip and beep once if the colour is red, and twice if it is green. If the colour is black, beep thrice and stop mBot totally, as the cheese has been found (if the mBot moves further, black will not be deemed to be detected, even if it beeps thrice).
- You can flash, say Red colour from the RGB LEDs and read the light sensor. If the light sensor reading is above a certain threshold, you can detect it as Red. A similar idea can be employed to detect Green.
- IGNORE the turn signs mentioned on the coloured boards. That is not applicable to this workshop. The coloured boards will be placed only along straight sections.
Score
Overall time taken to complete the maze in seconds
- 3 * successful stops at the black line
- 5 * number of colours detected correctly (including black at the end of the maze, if it beeps correctly and does not move further)
+ 10 * number of manual corrections
- Innovation Score (0-10 marks based on judges' discretion)
A lower score is better!
ONLY the sensors provided (2 x ultrasonic sensors, 1x line follower, 1x light sensor + 2 x RGB LEDs) can be used for solving the maze and for the challenge for extra points mentioned above. Any other sensor/device should only be used for features/functionalities that do not affect the score.
