Welcome to our Data for Good Database!

This resource is designed to help students and researchers access, explore, and utilize open-source datasets, particularly focusing on the Asia-Pacific region. This guide will walk you through how to navigate the database, download data, and understand metadata.

This folder is continuously being developed and updated with new datasets. The data will be organized by themes, followed by our Data of the Month’s themes.

Accessing the Database

The database is hosted directly on LKYSPP Data for Good Wiki.

Understanding Metadata

Each dataset comes with a metadata document that provides essential information about a dataset:

  • File Information: Data format details

  • Data Collection Methods and Sources: How and when the data was collected and its source

  • Variable Descriptions: Definitions of column names and data types

  • Notes for Analysis: Suggestions on how the data can be used for research

  • Limitations: Any known issues with the dataset (e.g., missing values, biases)

  • Citation: Citation requirements
