Are all edX courses eligible for DYOC?

Please refer to the eligible edX courses on Canvas. Only credit-bearing MOOCs will be processed for credit transfer and reimbursement.

Refer to Columns D and E of the Excel table to see suggested Units based on total effort (see Option A - Unit Equivalent).

However, it is recommended that you refer to the course information on edX for latest updates regularly before and during enrolment of course for any updates made by the partner institution.

You are encouraged to screenshot the suggested number of Units for future reference, and cross check with course information on edX.org before upgrading to verified track.

I've enrolled in an edX course but it is not showing on EduRec.

Only edX courses that you've passed will show up on EduRec within 1 week after completion.

I've passed a CS50 edX course but it is not showing on EduRec.

The CS50 MOOC records will show up under the “New Application (via LumiNUS/Canvas)” function of the DYOC (edX) page on EduRec within 1 week upon completion.

Alternatively, students may use the “New Application (Other MOOCs)” function to apply for credit transfer and reimbursement for the completed CS50 edX course. Students will be required to enter the necessary MOOC details, which can be obtained through Canvas or edX website (e.g. Course duration in weeks, min and max efforts per week, MOOC price in USD). The MOOC ID and Course Key can be obtained from the Course URL. An example of the MOOC details to be input is available in the ‘User Guide on EduRec Submission for Completed DYOC MOOCs’ (Part 2b). Please check out the user guide on student portal: https://myportal.nus.edu.sg/studentportal/eservices/all/user-guides/UserGuide-Submit-DYOC(MOOC)-Application.pdf

I've paid for an edX course but it shows as 0 USD on EduRec.

EduRec stores all the edX courses that you've passed (both audit and verified track). If the host institution of that course designed the grading to allow "Pass" on audit track and you passed before paying, it will show as 0 USD on EduRec.

Why are some edX courses on edX.org not displayed?

edX courses on Canvas are synced daily to display active courses with current or upcoming course runs. For example, archived courses or Professional Education courses will not show up on Canvas.

If you see this error message when enroling from Canvas, it is because these courses do not have audit enrolments. You may choose to go to edX.org to pay the verified certificate in order to access the course contents.

For DYOC, it is recommended that you refer to the course information on edX regularly before and during enrolment of course for any updates made by the partner institution.

I have two edX accounts - one with the NUS-ID email and another with friendly email.

For NUS-edX accounts created from Canvas, NUS IT uses your friendly email if you have one. Please use the account with friendly email so that your learning data can be captured and shared with NUS, especially for the purpose of DYOC

edX is not able to merge accounts or transfer learning records or certificates between accounts.

I am graduating soon. Can I continue to use this NUS-edX account to enrol to new courses in future?

Scenario 1

Before your lose access to Canvas, you can add a recovery email (e.g. personal gmail) which is not associated with any other edX account.

Proceed to reset password to set a local password for the same NUS email address.

Scenario 2

In case you are not able to access edX through Canvas, you may go to Sign In > Need help signing in? > Forget my password to set to a local password for the same NUS email address.

You will be able to continue using this edX account for new enrolments and access your previous courses and certificates.
