Getting Started in CDE

Welcome!

This wiki page is meant for undergraduate students enrolled in an undergraduate degree programme in CDE, from Cohort AY2019/20 onwards. It provides course registration information about the common courses that all students will have to read. For details about your major requirements, please visit your department websites.

Knowing Your Degree Requirements

  1. View your degree requirements in the NUS Bulletin or your department websites
  2. View your Advanced Placement Credits (if applicable)
  3. Check your department recommended schedule / study plan (refer to links on the side)
  4. Check if you require bridging courses in Math, Physics or English
  5. Work out your requirements if you are enrolled in special programmes e.g. E Scholars ProgrammeiDP, DDP, NUSC, UTCP, RVRC.

Accessing CourseReg & NUSMods

  1. Check that you can log into myEduRec. Use your NUSNET ID (e.g. e1234567) instead of your Student Number (e.g. A1234567N) to log in.
  2. Complete the Academic Plan Application & Declaration (APAD) exercise. You can only make one declaration each semester.
  3. Navigate to CourseReg and look up your pre-allocated classes under "View My Classes". Check that they match the courses in your recommended schedule.
  4. Determine if you need to register for more courses, beyond those that you have been pre-allocated. The usual academic workload is 20 units (~5 courses) per semester. In Year 1 Semester 1, you are allowed to take up to 23 units.
  5. Check out the timetable of other courses at NUSMods
  6. Bookmark important dates in the CourseReg schedule, so that you don’t miss any rounds or activities!

Having Questions?

  1. System issues - go through the CourseReg Videos first

  3. If you still need help, submit your appeal in CourseReg (Tip: look up the appeal timelines and appeal types first!)
  4. For other appeals or enquiries, contact the respective NUS office for assistance
