This page provides information on Course registration for Courses in the Engineering Core requirements:
Modelling & Simulation (8 Units)
Each BEng programme includes a combination of Courses of particular relevance selected from the following:
- MA1505 Mathematics I (4 Units) *Offered in Semester 1 only
- MA1508E Linear Algebra for Engineering (4 Units) *Offered in Semester 2 only
- MA1511 Engineering Calculus (2 Units)
- MA1512 Differential Equations for Engineering (2 Units)
- MA1513 Linear Algebra with Differential Equations (2 Units)
- CE2407A Uncertainty Analysis for Engineers (2 Units) *Offered in Semester 1 only
- CE2407B Introduction to Numerical Methods for Engineers (2 Units) *Offered in Semester 2 only
Pre-requisites & Preclusions
The MA15xx Courses have "passed A-level H2 Mathematics (or equivalent)" as a pre-requisite.
Students who do not meet the following criteria will need to read the Mathematics bridging Course MA1301, before you can start reading the required Mathematics Courses.
- Passed A-level H2 Mathematics or IB HL Mathematics or NUSHS Major in Mathematics
- Sat for and passed the MA1301 Proficiency Test
- Polytechnic diploma holders with recognised Diploma+ certificates in Mathematics (please submit your exemption request HERE)
How to register for the modules
Reading it in your scheduled semester
LECTURE will be open for selection in CourseReg Select Courses. Please register for it in CourseReg Select Courses (from Round 1 onwards).
TUTORIALS will be open for selection in CourseReg. You will need to select and rank your timeslots in Select Tutorials/Labs, and it will be allocated to you based on the priority score.
Reading it after your scheduled semester
LECTURE will be open for selection in CourseReg Select Courses (Round 3 onwards).
- Round 1 onwards: Students reading it in their scheduled semester
- Round 2 onwards: Year 4 students and E-Scholars
- Round 3: All CDE students in BEng programmes (Cohort 2019/20 onwards)
TUTORIALS will be open for selection in CourseReg. You will need to select and rank your timeslots in Select Tutorials/Labs, and it will be allocated to you based on the priority score.
Reading it before your scheduled semester
Please submit an appeal in CourseReg (Appeal Type: "Unable to Secure Course") after Round 3 ends, and we will consider your request subject to available quota.
