Things to note before the exam

If your current OS is supported, DO NOT upgrade your OS (especially to a beta version) during the semester. When in doubt, refer to the links below for the device minimum system requirements supported by Examplify.

The Examplify version officially supported by NUS is 3.5.4 for both Windows and Mac. Please check and ensure you are using the correct version of Examplify before your assessment.

If your Examplify version is wrong, upgrade your Examplify by following the below steps:

  1. Remove the downloaded exam file (How do I remove downloaded exam file from Examplify?), if any.
  2. Download the Examplify installer (Download and Install Examplify) and install it over your current Examplify.
  3. Take a few practice exams to ensure that the new Examplify works fine on your device.
  4. Download or re-download your exam file.
  • Windows
  • Mac OS
  • iPad

    1. iPad is not recommended for assessments with essay questions.
    2. iPad is not compatible with non-secure block internet assessments and ExamMonitor enabled assessments.

Please also ensure that your device meets the minimum system requirements and battery life required by NUS.

  1. ≥ 13 inches screen size (only single screen)

  2. ≥ 8 hours of battery life when new

  3. ≥ 1080p resolution

  4. ≥ 8 GB of RAM, an entry or mid-level Intel or AMD CPU

  5. ≥ 256 GB solid-state drive

Accessories

Wireless accessories (e.g wireless headsets, mouse and keyboards) are not recommended because Examplify may block wireless communications or it can be affected by interference from other devices. Should you require the use of such accessories, you are advised to obtain the wired equivalent. You need to be aware of space limitations in the exam venue as there may not be sufficient space to arrange all equipment in the space provided.
