I cannot log in to Canvas

Follow these steps to troubleshoot Canvas log in issues.

On the web

Make sure you are navigating to the correct login page

The Canvas login page url is https://canvas.nus.edu.sg. 

Make sure your password is correct

Type your password in a text editor to make sure you are typing it correctly, then paste this into the password field when prompted.

Bad request? Clear web browser cookies and cache

If you get this message:

Bad Request - Request Too Long

HTTP Error 400. The size of the request headers is too long message.

or

Bad Request

Your browser sent a request that this server could not understand.

Size of a request header field exceeds server limit.

Please clear your web browser's cookies and cache (all time/all history, if necessary), restart the browser and try again.

If this fails, repeat the process, but reboot your computer before restarting the browser, then try again.

You may also try a different web browser or use an incognito/private window in your browser to see if it resolves your issue.

On the Canvas Student mobile app

If you use the mobile app on Android or iOS, after tapping Find my school, you will be prompted for the school name.

Type National University of Singapore and choose the National University of Singapore | NUS Students / Alumni option.

Note on t-accounts

Temporary accounts do not have access to Canvas.
