Why does deleting a quiz in Assignments also delete it from Quizzes?

Quizzes are a special assignment type.

Graded quizzes automatically appear in Assignments when they are created in Quizzes.

This is not a link to the quiz, but the actual quiz itself.

For a quiz to not to appear as an assignment, it should be set as a practice quiz in the quiz options.
