What do students see after taking a quiz in Classic Quizzes?
In all the scenarios listed on this page, the points scored are always displayed.
However, if the quiz has been set to manual release (for the grade posting policy), then the points scored (as well as all other quiz response options) will not be displayed until you post the grades. Students will see Your quiz has been muted (see image below).
If the quiz is changed from automatic release to manual release after there have been attempts, you will need to hide the already posted grades (if the intention is not to show students the grades).
Other than Scenario 1 below:
the points per question will be displayed (in addition to the total points),
all comment types will be displayed. Your comment(s) may give away the right answer, even if you choose not to let the student see the correct answers, and
incorrect answers are always displayed.
The student view screenshots include a screenshot of the chosen settings under Instructions.
This is for you to visualise the effect the settings have on the student view of Quiz results. It does not get attached to Instructions by default.

If hide correct answers date is set, students will see results as in scenario 2, with a message that correct answers are no longer available. | |
6 | DO NOT USE THIS SCENARIO. This combination of options is the same as scenario 3. This is because the results are shown only once after each attempt. The results cannot be shown beyond that, so the dates to release the correct answers will be ignored. |
