End-to-end (E2E) encryption

End-to-end (E2E) encryption for meetings is now available in technical preview as a Phase 1.

Note:

  1. Enabling E2E encryption for meetings requires all meeting participants to join from the Zoom desktop client, mobile app, or Zoom Rooms.

  2. Enabling this setting also disables the following features:
    1. join before host
    2. cloud recording
    3. live streaming
    4. live transcription
    5. Breakout Rooms
    6. polling
    7. 1:1 private chat
    8. meeting reactions

  3. Users will not be able to join by the following devices, as these endpoints cannot be encrypted end to end.:
    1. telephone
    2. SIP/H.323 devices
    3. on-premise configurations
    4. Lync/Skype client

  4. Zoom web client and third-party clients leveraging the Zoom SDK are also not supported at launch.

To enable E2E encryption for your account:

  1. Go to https://nus-sg.zoom.us/profile/setting
  2. Enable "Allow use of end-to-end encryption".

To enable E2E encryption for your next meeting:
You will have choice of using the existing Enhance encryption or End-to-end encryption when you schedule a new meeting.
