End-to-end (E2E) encryption
End-to-end (E2E) encryption
End-to-end (E2E) encryption for meetings is now available in technical preview as a Phase 1.
Note:
- Enabling E2E encryption for meetings requires all meeting participants to join from the Zoom desktop client, mobile app, or Zoom Rooms.
- Enabling this setting also disables the following features:
- join before host
- cloud recording
- live streaming
- live transcription
- Breakout Rooms
- polling
- 1:1 private chat
- meeting reactions
- Users will not be able to join by the following devices, as these endpoints cannot be encrypted end to end.:
- telephone
- SIP/H.323 devices
- on-premise configurations
- Lync/Skype client
- Zoom web client and third-party clients leveraging the Zoom SDK are also not supported at launch.
To enable E2E encryption for your account:
- Go to https://nus-sg.zoom.us/profile/setting
- Enable "Allow use of end-to-end encryption".
To enable E2E encryption for your next meeting:
You will have choice of using the existing Enhance encryption or End-to-end encryption when you schedule a new meeting.
